Prior to receiving her law degree from Drake University in 2010, Nicole worked for many years as a social worker for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Story County. While working for HHS, Nicole assisted many parents and children in overcoming barriers so they could have healthy and safe families. This previous position provided her with valuable experience in assisting people with substance abuse and mental health issues. Nicole made the decision to attend law school so she could expand her advocacy for families and individuals.

Nicole started practicing law with the Newbrough Law Firm in 2010 and has continued serving parents and children in all areas of family and juvenile law including divorces, child custody or paternity matters, civil protective orders (for domestic, sexual, or elder abuse), child support, guardianships, Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) matters, and delinquency matters. Nicole is very committed to helping families move forward after experiencing life changing events to live their best lives. Nicole has the ability to provide calm and practical advice to those going through some of the toughest times of their lives. Nicole is trained as a mediator and has been conducting mediations since 2016 to help families resolve their disputes without the need for court intervention.

Nicole is an avid sports fan who loves to cheer on her home teams, the Chicago Cubs and Bears. She loves to travel with her family and friends to experience what life has to offer.
